Every April, as the air softens and the lake reflects a gentler light, Gargnano opens its lemon houses like chapters of an ancient manuscript. Giardini d’Agrumi 2026, held on April 18–19, invites visitors into these suspended spaces where the scent of citrus blends with stone, terraces and silence.
The lemon houses of Upper Lake Garda are not simple gardens. They are architectural machines built to protect citrus trees and transform a rugged landscape into a Mediterranean oasis. Tall walls, stone pillars and terraced structures reveal centuries of knowledge. During the event, many private lemon houses open exceptionally, revealing hidden corners and rare varieties.
Gargnano’s historic centre becomes a living itinerary: courtyards scented with blossom, terraces overlooking the lake, secluded gardens where ancient citrus varieties thrive. In the Cloister of San Francesco, the pomological display showcases more than fifty citrus types, each with its own shape, aroma and story.
The 10th Edition features installations, archival photographs, agricultural tools and narratives from those who still preserve traditional cultivation methods. It is a journey into the agricultural memory of Lake Garda and a way to understand how this landscape became a symbol of identity.
Giardini d’Agrumi is not just an event. It is a mood, a rhythm, a scent.
