Discover the most beautiful cycle path in Italy: Garda by Bike

Garda by Bike is suitable for bicycle enthusiasts as well as for those who love walking in nature.

The new Garda cycle path, Garda by Bike, is a cycle tour of about 140 km which connects the shores of Lake Garda and which can be covered by bike or on foot along the entire circumference of Lake Garda, from the shores of Trentino to those of Brescia and Veronese. Considered the most beautiful cycle path in Italy, it connects three regions: Veneto, Trentino and Lombardy.

The runway starts from Limone sul Garda and currently reaches Capo Reamol, in the Brescia area, on the border with Trentino-Alto Adige, just over 2 kilometres, and an extension up to 12 is envisaged. The works will end in 2026.

The project envisages that the Garda by Bike, once completed, will connect to the other existing cycle paths. For example, the Ciclovia del Sole, a beautiful itinerary of over 2,000 km that crosses eleven regions and connects South Tyrol with Santa Teresa di Gallura, in Sardinia.

Another planned connection is with the Ciclovia del Vento, the cycling ridge of the Po.

Lake Garda has always been a destination for bicycle lovers and above all for Austrian, German and Northern European cyclists.

A wonderful route through panoramas and landscapes that are unique in the world, over the lake, the countryside and the Dolomites, with services aimed at top-level cycling tourists.
The mild climate, the beauty and purity of the Garda water is ideal for many other outdoor sports activities: diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, to be combined if desired with a bicycle and to experience a complete and varied holiday all sports sign.

The itinerary of the cycle path from Limone sul Garda to Nago-Torbole

The itinerary extends for about 89 km in the Brescia area and crosses, among others, the municipalities of Desenzano, Sirmione, Lonato and then skirts the coast northwards in the municipalities of Salò, Gardone Riviera up to Tremosine sul Garda and Limone sul Garda.

The most demanding stretch of the route, 27 km from Gargnano to Limone sul Garda, can be overcome with the Navigarda bus line.

On the eastern bank, the Veronese one, the route is approximately 69 km long and crosses the territories of Peschiera del Garda, Castelnuovo del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino up to Malcesine, partially following the route of the Sole cycle path.
Finally, on the Trentino bank, for a
7 km long, it crosses the municipalities of Riva del Garda, Arco and Nago-Torbole.

The end of the works for Garda by like has been set for 2026

Garda By like will be completed in its entirety by the end of 2026, the year of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, but some kilometers can already be covered:

– the 2.5 km stretch from the Hotel Panorama in Limone sul Garda for get to the border with Trentino, which offers an extraordinary spectacle due to the fact that it was built entirely overhanging the lake;

– the parts of the cycle itinerary that intersect with the famous Ciclovia del Sole and with routes 7 and 8 of EuroVelo;

– the journey between Riva del Garda and Torbole;

– the cycle path from Gragnano to Tremosine, existing since the beginning of the twentieth century and defined by Churchill as the eighth wonder of the world.
